Social Security Ceiling

A ministerial decree has just set the amount of the Social Security Ceiling for 2021. Thus, as of January 1st, 2021, the Social Security Ceiling remains unchanged. Its monthly amount remains fixed at €3,428 and its annual amount at €41,136.

Monetization of days-off

A company-wide agreement or an industry-wide agreement may authorize, until June 30, 2021, the monetization of days-off and leave of absence in order to compensate for the decrease in pay suffered by employees placed in partial activity due to the health crisis.

Petrol VAT

Until now, companies could deduct VAT on petrol, up to 60%, whether used in a private car or a commercial vehicle. Since January 1st, 2021, this partial deduction has been increased to 80%, regardless of the type of vehicle.

Legal interest rate

In the first half of 2021, the legal interest rate is 0.79% for outstanding debts owed to professionals. This rate is used to calculate, in the absence of conventional stipulations, the late interest due in the event of an outstanding debt by a debtor after he has been put on notice. It is also used to determine the minimum rate of penalties applicable between professionals in the event of a late payment of an invoice.
