Absolutely not! An employee on maternity leave enjoys so-called “absolute” protection against dismissal. So, her employer cannot dismiss her during this period, for whatever reason. Nor can the employer take any preparatory measures for dismissal during maternity leave. In other words, you cannot send your employee on maternity leave a letter inviting her to a preliminary interview, even if the date of the interview is set after her return to the company.

Beware: Bismissal under such conditions would be declared null and void by the courts.
