Ecological bonus

The purchase or lease (a two-year or more agreement) of a less-polluting car or van, new or used, may be eligible for financial assistance. The amount of the ecological bonus was expected to decrease from €6,000 to €5,000 as of July 1st, 2022. However, due to the climate emergency and the need to support the electric vehicle market, the reduction of the bonus has been postponed by the government.

AGS contributions

The Association for the Management of the Guarantee Scheme for Employees’ Claims (AGS: Association pour la gestion du régime de Garantie des créances des Salariés) ensures that employees whose employer is placed in receivership or liquidation pay the sums due to them (salaries, redundancy payments, etc.). This scheme is financed by a contribution exclusively borne by employers. Since July 1st, 2017, its rate has been 0.15%. On June 23, 2022, the AGS’s Board of Directors decided that the contribution rate will be maintained at 0.15%.

Renewal of parental presence

An employee, whose child suffers from an illness, disability, or a serious accident requiring sustained presence and restrictive care, benefits from parental presence leave. This leave is granted for a maximum period of 310 working days (consecutive or not) to be taken over a period of 3 years. The leave can be renewed under certain circumstances. To benefit from the renewal of parental presence leave before the end of the 3-year period, the employee must obtain a new medical certificate from the doctor who follows the child.

Fixed cost aid

Companies impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic that have benefited from “fixed costs” aid must reimburse the State for any sums they have received in excess. A refund procedure is provided for in this respect, which requires companies to declare their net result to the tax office. This declaration must be made online on the website of the Ministry of Finance. As such, a form for calculating the amount of the net result is made available to companies on this site. The declaration must be accompanied by a certificate from the company’s-chartered accountant or auditor indicating, among other things, the amounts of the net results and EBITDA for each eligible period and the amount of any excess aid.
